Sasaki Hisashi, the movie's deputy director posted four photos taken on the set -- it seems that they've got the Kamiya dojo mostly up. Looks pretty good. But first, check out who showed up at the set to watch:

Sanosuke's zanbatou and Kenshin's sakabatou:


Hmm...I was expecting the zanbatou to be a little bigger. Maybe not as big as what they had in the manga, but something that looks more ridiculously unwieldy. That looks like a digging implement. Or a metal cricket bat. Not terribly intimidating, really, as compared to the original.

This makes me wonder if any of the show's other, um, fantastic elements will be modified are removed. Kenshin was, in a lot of ways, heavy on realism, but pretty ludicrous with certain things as well. Will Kenshin even have red hair? Guess we'll have to wait till they can release actor photos...
